He Maketh My Feet Like Hinds’ Feet

The Lord God is my strength,
and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet,
and he will make me to walk upon mine high places… (Habakkuk 3:19)

34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet:
and setteth me upon my high places….
37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.  (2 Samuel 22:34,37)
Some good pictures can help us see what experiences and sights might have brought Habakkuk and David to write what they did.

We're pretty familiar with Nephi 3:7 that says the Lord doesn't give commandments without preparing a way for us to accomplish them.  These scriptures also suggest that the Lord can help us find the way even when there isn't one. He can make each step just big enough for us to walk on.

I'm have a calling as cub committee chair right now, and recently we had a stake cub scout day camp and our ward was in charge of one of the activity stations.  There turned out to be some holes in my planning, but the Lord inspired other people to fill in those gaps and our activities were more successful because of that.  I did feel like our steps were being enlarged under us so that we wouldn't slip.

I think these verses also testify of Christ and the sinless, perfect way that He walked.  Think of how precarious His life was--one misstep from Him and He would have fallen forever, along with the rest of mankind.  But He walked that narrow way and now we can too because of Him.
