Judging Jesus

And the world, because of their iniquity, shall judge him [Jesus] to be a thing of naught… (1 Nephi 19:9)
Right there is an interesting insight into rejection of Jesus Christ. People don’t disregard Christ out of ignorance, only out of their own iniquity. So if there is anything good that we think is worthless, it is because we are too attached to our own sin to lay hold upon it.

Might the converse be true as well that the Saints because of their righteousness, judge Jesus to be of great worth and benefit?

Glad you asked,
I have noticed a trend lately, especially since there is a lot of debate concerning the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints . It seems that people love to argue whether or not this church is valid or not, they throw rocks and dig up the most irrelevant trivia about the church and it's members. But I have not heard too many detractors mention the name of Jesus Christ. But I know that those members of the church who come under fire, seem to remember our covenant promise to defend the Savior at all times, and in any situation until we die.
I have also noticed a media bliz, there are many programs that promote the theory of alien visitations. These programs go beyond UFO's. They introduce the idea that because of visitations by alleged"ancient" aliens, ancient man and now modern man was greatly influenced by them, and the underlying message is that "God" is not in the details. But to keep from offending too many, they will rift from the scripture such phenomena as the burning bush, or manna from heaven to back up their theories. The sin of omission is greater than the sin of ignorance.
Another trend that is deeply disturbing to me,is when popular TV hosts, use their "worldy wisdom" to attempt to "help" a person is is in truth seeking the Savior. They use words like Universe, personal gods, etc. Then people in turn use words like, I am a fan of Jesus" (What's that all about". I sometimes think that worldly venacular (slang), is to common a language to use when referring to deity.
Precious is how we should regard the Savior. When I think of the word precious, what comes to mind is a jewel of great worth, something longed for, and saved up for and sacrificed for.We make personal sacrifices for the Savior. He is our Pearl of Great Price. He is worthy of our love.

Great points, RGG. That's interesting that you point that out about "fan." There's a difference between being a "fan" and being a "disciple," isn't there?
